Bill Berry
William Thomas Berry was born in Duluth, Minnesota on July 31st 1958. At the age of twelve he and his family had settled in Macon, Georgia where Bill when to high school and started to play the drums. He joined the school band and met Mills who he hated. Mills was a strait-A student who didn't smoke ciggerettes or pot and got on with the teachers but the two finnally came to terms when Bills band needed a Bass player. After high school the two of them rented an apartment in Macon before enrolling in the university of Georgia and moving to Athens in 1979. In 1980 Kathleen O'Brien introduced Buck to Berry at a party and Berry soon met Stipe. They found Mills extreamly drunk in a bar but after he sobered up they decided to start a band.
