Green

Released in 1989, R.E.M's first album with Warner Bros. Records was created to raise money for enviromentalists with representetives from amnesty international and friends of the earth at nearly every concert. The album has a much more cheery feel to it than their last album 'Document' and it doesn't follow such a rock theme as it either. The only songs that are an exeption are Orange Crush (a song about the vietnam war) and the Wrong Child (a song about a disabled child) with Turn you Inside Out having an electric feel to it as has Pop Song 89. The album is pretty light hearted but it isn't R.E.M at their best.
